Baden Expands Distribution Network

Baden Retirement Plan Services (Baden), an Ascensus® company, and one of the largest independent regional third party administrators (TPA) in the Midwest, is rolling out its services nationally through Ascensus' sales force of twelve Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs). The sales and marketing effort has been initiated by three RVPs whose territories cover sixteen Midwest states.

SunGard Relius has posted an FAQ titled, ROTH IRAs-Part 1: 2010 Law Changes and Retirement Savings Opportunities. As an independent third party administrator of 401(k) and other types of tax qualified employee retirement plans, Baden provides this information to assist plans sponsors and plan participants in gathering information on Roth IRA Conversions and Roth IRA Rollovers. Plan sponsors and participants should contact their tax professional with specific questions on conversion issues; they should contact Baden with questions on the impact of this feature in a retirement plan.

Schedule C FAQ Guidance from the DOL

The Department of Labor (DOL) has posted an FAQ to "supplement FAQs published in July 2008, and to provide further guidance in response to additional questions from plans and service providers on the requirements for reporting service provider fees and other compensation on the Schedule C of the 2009 Form 5500 Annual Return/Report of Employee Benefit Plan". The FAQ addresses indirect compensation related to ERISA plans.
