Free 401(k) Auto Enrollment Publication

On January 15, 2009 the Department of Labor and the Internal Revenue Service issued a press release announcing the availability of a free publication titled, 'Automatic Enrollment 401(k) Plans for Small Businesses'.  According to the press release, "This publication describes an automatic enrollment 401(k) plan, how to set up the plan, management of the plan, fiduciary responsibilities and a checklist to ensure compliance with the law."

 

Free copies of the booklet and other materials are available by calling the Labor Department's Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) or visiting the agency's website.  The agency's toll-free telephone number and website address are listed in the press release.
